What is the appropriate dose of Champix?

Champix is usually taken as a
12 week course or longer. Champix is slowly introduced during week
one and subsequently increased during the following course. Most patients start
with a 0.5mg dose for the first week and then continue with a Champix 1.0 mg

Champix is usually issued as a Starter or Continuation Pack which contains a week of the Champix 0.5mg dose. After the first week you will receive the higher Champix 1.0mg dose. Finally, once you have stop smoking and you are ready to discontinue the Champix most doctors will recommend that you taper the dose rather than abruptly stopping treatment with Champix.
When should I start taking Champix?
Most doctors recommend taking Champix at least two
weeks prior to your smoking cessation date. For some individuals that have a
